This weekend was action packed for Mustang wrestling.  The Varsity team competed in Carter High Schools, “Duals at the Den” and the Frosh-Soph team hosted the Mustang Invitational. 

The varsity team wrestled hard and found good success finishing 6-1.  The Mustangs had victories over Eisenhower High School, Etiwanda, Granit Hills, the host school Carter, Beaumont and Rialto.  The Mustangs finished 2nd in the tournament losing to Bloomington High School by a narrow four point margin in a tough fought championship dual.

The Varsity team will be traveling to the Las Vegas Holiday Classic to compete this Friday and Saturday.

The Frosh-Soph team hosted 11 Schools comprising 16 teams at the Mustang Invitational and posted some impressive results.   Four Mustangs ended the tournament as champions, Malik Isterabadi (106), Eric Saldana (113), Matthew Lugo (138) and Alex Tang (170).  Jacob Jasper finished 2nd (220) and 3rd place finishers included Blake Bernard (120), Abram Cortez (132), Chris Lugo (145), Jason Ramos (160), Dalton Belanger (220) and Vince Scigliano (285).
