Mustangs Finish Regular Season STRONG

League Finals

The last ten days have been some good ones for the Mustang wrestling team. Wednesday, (1/28) saw the Mustang Varsity capture a portion of the Century Conference-Crestview League title with a strong team dual win against El Modena High School. The Century Conference-Crestview League is one of the strongest in Orange County placing three teams in the County’s Top 10 poll most of the season.

Saturday, (1/31) the Freshman Mustangs and the Junior Varsity Mustangs competed in the eight team Century Conference Individual Finals at Villa Park High School. As teams, the Junior Varsity finished as Century Conference Champions and the Freshman team had a strong showing finishing third.

The Junior Varsity had 11 wrestlers place, led by Century Conference Champions Alex Tang and Malik Isterabadi. Second place finishers, Abram Cortes, Chris Lugo and Steve Hill. Third place finishers, Mathew Lugo, Chris Tang, Evan Willhoff and J. Kristopla. Fourth place finishers, Jack Ramos and Sean Donovan

The Freshman team had 6 wrestlers place, led by Century Conference Champions Tyler Tagayun and Jason Ramos. Second place finisher, Saigen Torres. Third place finishers, J. Lahmon and Jacob Jasper. Fourth place finisher, Grant Liebel.

On Wednesday night (2/4), the Mustang Varsity traveled to Villa Park High School to compete in the Century Conference Finals and, “It took more than your normal effort to secure a spot anywhere in the top four in each weight class on Wednesday night” (CLICK HERE FOR OC VARSITY ARTICLE).”

The Varsity Mustangs ended the night with 7 place winners and a total of 9 CIF individual tournament qualifiers. The team was led by Century Conference Champions, Andrew Gomez, Anthony Garcia and Abe Ochoa. Second place finishers, Jacob Roehl and Dillon Herrera. Third place finishers, Willie Fuher and Max Matles. Fourth place finishers, Josh Roizman and Ryan Jalabi.

The Varsity has a short break as the top 4 at each weight from the Century League Finals advances to CIF-SS Central Division Individual Championships, Feb. 20-21 at Grand Terrace High School.
