Mustangs find Success in Asics SoCal Challenge

The Mustang Varsity finished the Holiday break by competing in the Asics Southern California Challenge on January 3rd and 4th at Tustin High School.    The Mustangs were impressive in the 55 team tournament, finishing in the 5th place spot as a team, receiving a nice piece of team hardware to add to the Mustang wrestling trophy collection.

Individually, the Mustangs were equally impressive, having six wrestlers finish as medalists.  Andrew Gomez was the 132 pound tournament champion.  Jacob Roehl placed 2nd Abe Ochoa and Brandon Gee finished 3rd and Hunter Priest and Tristan Steinman finished 4th in their respective weight classes.

The action continues for all levels tonight (Thursday) in our second Empire League Dual against Valencia High School at home in the YLHS gym.  This weekend the Frosh-Soph team will be hosting thirteen teams at the Mustang Invitational. (CLICK HERE to see the team calendar)
